Tip: aluminum, copper and stainless steel roofs

A roof made of sheet metal is no longer a rarity these days. Whether made of aluminum, copper or stainless steel, each material brings different advantages. For example, an aluminum roof has a very low weight and is easy to form. Copper can also be formed well, especially at low outside temperatures. In addition, copper is well suited for complicated building connections and has a high resistance to other materials, such as cement or plaster.

If you are looking for a roof structure that guarantees a very long service life, a roof made of stainless steel is particularly recommended. The high corrosion resistance of stainless steel is also one of its great advantages. However, a stainless steel roof is quite expensive to manufacture and install due to the intensive processing involved in interlocking and cutting work. A good alternative to this is a roof made of galvanized steel sheet. Compared with the stainless steel sheet, galvanized steel sheet roof is easy to solder, also very stable and has a good load-bearing capacity.

If you focus on a special look when choosing a roof, a sheet metal roof made of titanium zinc will give you a beautiful patina layer when weathered. This also protects well against corrosion, is easy to solder and can be almost completely recycled afterwards. However, a roof made of titanium zinc should be installed only by a tinsmith. This is because titanium zinc is susceptible to construction and installation errors.
