Tip: How to make the home cinema evening a complete success

Not only in times of Corona, but also in bad weather as well as on cold evenings in winter, people like to make themselves comfortable at home. Having your own home theater brings the cinema experience home and makes for cozy hours with family or friends. The magazine "Schöner Wohnen" compiles 15 tips on its website on how to make the cinema evening at home a complete success.

The size of the screen and the distance from the sofa to the TV play a key role in a home theater. For a good cinema experience, the TV screen should have a diagonal of at least 102 cm. The ideal distance from the sofa, for a standard definition (SD) TV, is calculated by taking the screen diagonal times 3.5, and for HD, the diagonal times 2.5. An even more authentic cinema experience can be achieved by using a projector on a screen or directly on the wall. With a Dolby surround system or a less expensive soundbar, you can create the perfect sound for your home theater.

Light and lighting design also play an important role. Both dimmed light behind the TV and indirect light from small table lamps or floor lamps create a pleasant atmosphere. Candles or fairy lights are also a good choice for the home theater. When streaming, care should also be taken to ensure technically flawless transmission. With a powerline adapter, the transmission runs over the power line so that the movie can be played without interference. Not to be forgotten: A comfortable seat on a cozy couch, in a feel-good chair or a loveseat are obligatory for the cinema experience. Fresh popcorn and tasty drinks round off the movie night and make it an unforgettable experience.
