The dream of the walk-in closet

The dream of a walk-in closet can be realized in just about any house or apartment. At best, what is needed is a free space that can be converted into a spacious closet in no time at all. Whether in an unused former children's room, in the attic or perhaps on an offside in a room, with a little planning and craftsmanship, an individually designed dressing room can soon be created.

Basically, there are two design options for the interior of a walk-in closet. Thus, the new closet can be equipped with a classic cabinet carcass or with support profiles attached to the wall or ceiling, for example, aluminum. In the second option, it is advisable to check the load-bearing capacity of the walls. In any case, a prerequisite for professional space planning is to measure the premises and install the shelves or rods at a suitable height. For example, shelves in which sweaters are stored, should have a depth of 45 cm at best, shirts should be hung at a height of 120 cm.

The number of drawers and their location should also be considered when planning the walk-in closet. As well as the equipment with shoe racks, handbag holders, trouser holders or clothes lifts. There is also usually room for extras, such as rolling chests of drawers or an upholstered shoe bench. Thoughtful LED lighting technology not only ensures sufficient brightness and a pleasant atmosphere, but also does not generate heat. If the walk-in closet is located in a room used for multifunctional purposes, room dividers and sliding doors will help to separate the rooms.
