Another important point with a flat-roofed house is proper construction; above all, the roof must be one hundred percent watertight. A roof slope of two percent is the minimum requirement for construction. Three to five percent is even recommended, so that the rainwater can drain off effectively. Roof drains on the roof surface and good roof waterproofing are just as much a part of a flat roof house as good thermal insulation and a load-bearing structure.
