Subsidies for the replacement of the heating system

It is never too late to replace an old oil heating system with a modern and energy-saving heating system. The Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) and the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA) share this view. That's why they offer attractive grants and loans to interested parties when it comes to energy-efficient renovation. While the BAFA subsidy in the area of heating only subsidizes the replacement of the old oil boiler heating system to heating with renewable energies, the KfW also offers other subsidy options.

Regardless of whether the property is an old building or a new construction, owners can count on grants of up to 35 percent of the costs with BAFA funding, as well as a replacement premium for the old oil heating system. Whether through the use of solar collector systems or biomass and heat pump systems, by replacing a heating system, owners save energy costs in the long term and make a significant contribution to environmental protection. Those who switch completely to renewable energies for heating, for example by using an eligible hybrid heating system, can increase the subsidy rate by 10 percentage points and receive a subsidy rate of 45 percent from BAFA. A characteristic feature of BAFA is the disbursement of the subsidy amounts.

KfW's promotional services are generally provided in the form of loans or grants. Another funding measure by KfW is the waiver of redemption payments. The KfW funding program includes both complete renovations and ancillary work, for example in the boiler room or storage tanks. With KfW funding, loans of up to 50,000 euros and grants of up to 10,000 euros can be applied for in the case of individual measures. In the case of a complete renovation to an energy-efficient house, loans of up to 120,000 euros and grants of up to 48,000 euros are possible. Interested parties can find further information directly from KfW and BAFA.
