Anyone wishing to buy a new apartment in Munich will have to dig deep into their pockets. According to the study "11th edition of the Property Index - Overview of European Residential Markets" by Deloitte GmbH Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft, Munich is the second most expensive city in Europe. While buyers in Munich have to pay €10,500 per square meter, only Paris is more expensive at €13,462 per square meter.

But buyers also pay extremely high prices in other cities, namely London (8,426 euros/square meter), Oslo (8,417 euros/square meter) and Frankfurt am Main (8,400 euros/square meter). Amsterdam also ranks high (7,600 euros/square meter). Other expensive cities are Antwerp, Milan, Cluij-Napoca and Barcelona.

By contrast, buyers in Varna and Burgas in Bulgaria only had to come up with a small budget. There, the purchase prices per square meter were 885 and 900 euros per square meter, respectively.
