Call for entries: German Architecture Prize

The German Architecture Prize 2023 is being awarded by the Federal Ministry of Building and the Chamber of Architects. Proposals for exemplary buildings or building ensembles can be submitted until Wednesday, March 29, 4 pm. These must have been built in Germany between January 1, 2021 and January 15, 2023. Proposals can also be made for buildings or building ensembles abroad if they were predominantly built with funds from the Federal Republic of Germany.

The German Architecture Prize is endowed with 30,000 euros. In addition, a further total of 30,000 euros will be awarded - divided into up to five awards of 4,000 euros each and up to five recognitions of 2,000 euros each. Interested parties must submit various documents to the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning (BBR) for the competition. These include at least an application form, an explanatory form and presentation plans.

The jury assesses, for example, the design quality and the design concept, the urban planning quality and integration into the neighborhood, the climate effectiveness and environmental protection, the use of resources and the material concept, the quality of the energy concept, the functionality and quality of use, the economic efficiency and the innovative content.
