Smell of cannabis: Neighborhood dispute ends up in district court

Two neighbors in Frankfurt am Main got into an argument over the smell of cannabis. But what had happened? One evening, the smell of cannabis drifted into a man's apartment. He then went out onto the balcony to talk to his neighbor.

However, he denied everything. When the man then announced that he would involve the landlord, his neighbor initially said: "Then come over and we'll sort it out like men." The man then announced that he would call the police and was told: "If you do that, I'll get five guys to take you away." The police who were called also detected the smell of cannabis and found long papers, among other things.

The man who had been threatened finally filed a so-called application for protection against violence with the Frankfurt Main district court. With success: the neighbor is now no longer allowed to approach him for six months. Otherwise, he faces a fine of up to 250,000 euros or even imprisonment.
