There will be some changes in the energy sector in 2023. The energy advice service of the consumer advice center provides information on these. Among other things, consumers should be aware of the energy efficiency regulations for new buildings, the capping of energy prices and the promotion of energy-saving investments. From 2023, for example, stricter requirements will apply to new buildings with regard to primary energy requirements.
There will also be a gas price cap and an electricity price cap for private households and small and medium-sized enterprises. The gas price is to be capped at 12 cents per kilowatt hour from March 2023 to April 2024. The electricity price will be capped at 40 cents per kilowatt hour by the electricity price brake. However, this cap only applies to the basic requirement of 80% of the previous year's consumption.
Anyone wishing to carry out energy-saving measures and receive funding should check in advance whether they are actually eligible for funding. In future, for example, only heating systems that run on at least 65% renewable energy will be eligible for funding.
