Guide: "Energy efficiency in hospitals"

The Münch Foundation has now published a guide to "Energy efficiency in hospitals". In it, it has examined where there is potential with regard to the factors "light and lighting", "circulation and circulation pumps", "solar energy and photovoltaics", "room climate and cooling", "combined heat and power plants", "heating and steam boilers", "building insulation" and "energy-saving actions".

Among other things, the authors conclude that replacing circulation and circulation pumps with high-efficiency pumps could reduce electricity consumption to a fraction and that this could pay for itself within a few years. Replacing old lighting with new LED lighting is also recommended.

Interested parties can read the guide free of charge at stiftung-muench.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Leitfaden-Energieeffizienz.pdf. The foundation is also hosting an online event on Friday, April 21, 4 to 5 pm. At this event, the authors will present the study and answer questions.
