Forms of living: Living in old age

Senior citizens want to live independently. This was the finding of the market research institute Ipsos, which conducted a quantitative and qualitative survey of 1,124 senior citizens and 74 industry experts across Germany on behalf of the Carestore Group.

The results showed that 74% of respondents would like to live in the city center, in regular or upscale residential areas. The study also shows that services such as assistance with visits to the authorities, car sharing and help with online issues are more important to senior citizens than health care in the residential complex.

The senior citizens surveyed also want to participate in life: Around 60 percent would also like to pursue leisure activities outside of retirement homes. It is also important to the respondents that they remain independent without having to live alone. Interested parties can view all the results of the study at carestore.com.
