Many homeowners find it difficult to initiate and implement energy-efficient renovations. This is the result of a flash survey conducted by the consumer protection association Wohnen im Eigentum (WiE), in which around 2,700 homeowners took part.
Among other things, the survey shows that only 8% of the apartment owners surveyed know that they can pass renovation resolutions in their homeowners' associations (WEG). The rest of the condominium owners do not feel informed about this (62%) or only partially informed (30%).
The condominium owners surveyed apparently lack basic knowledge on how to pass resolutions and the regulations on cost allocation in condominiums (70%). In addition, they would like special energy consulting services (69%) and subsidy programs for condominiums (60%). Furthermore, condominium owners need support in drawing up renovation and financing schedules (52%) and also consider energy-related legal advice to be necessary (49%).
