Refurbishments: Ethouse Award 2022 presented

The Ethouse Award 2022 from the ARGE Quality Group for Thermal Insulation Systems (QG WDS) was recently presented in Vienna. This prize is awarded to those responsible for holistically implementing the topic of energy efficiency with regard to renovations and providing architectural impetus with a thermal insulation system. The prizes in the categories "Public buildings", "Residential buildings with commercial use" and "Residential buildings" went to those responsible for the Brixlegg elementary school, the Linz town hall and the Hauffgasse residential complex in Vienna's 11th district.

ARGE Architekturhalle Wulz-König ZT KG with ILIOVAarchitektur and the ETICS installer Hans Bodner BaugesmbH + CoKG were awarded the prize for the Brixlegg elementary school in Tyrol (category "Public buildings"). The refurbishment ensured a 100 percent supply of renewable heating energy and reduced energy consumption by more than 80 percent.

In the Stadthaus Linz project, implemented by mia2 Architektur ZT GmbH and the façade builder Markmont GmbH ("residential building with commercial use"), the heating requirement was reduced by around 80 percent thanks to the renovation measures. The Hauffgasse residential complex ("residential building" category) was renovated by GSD Gesellschaft für Stadt- und Dorferneuerung m.b.H. together with ARGE Porr Bau GmbH and Zinglbau GmbH on behalf of BWS, Gemeinnützige allgemeine Bau, Wohn- und Siedlungsgenossenschaft. Here, too, the heating requirement was significantly reduced. Further information and photos are available at: qg.waermedaemmsysteme.at.
