Study: Investors for more sustainability

Real estate investors in Europe want to make their real estate portfolios more sustainable in the future. In Germany, 73 percent of the real estate investors surveyed plan to invest in the sustainable refurbishment of their portfolios, in France the figure is 72 percent and in the UK 57 percent.

It is also important to them that the properties have a corresponding sustainability certificate. In France, 79 percent of real estate investors pay attention to this, in the UK 70 percent and in Germany 60 percent.

These and other findings emerge from the "Investment Climate Study II/2021: Real Estate Markets undergoing Transformation" by Union Investment Real Estate GmbH. A total of 150 real estate companies and institutional real estate investors in Germany, France and the UK were surveyed by market research institute Ipos from November 2021 to January 2022 for the study.
