According to the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Die Moderne Küche (AMK), outdoor food preparation is becoming increasingly important. Interested parties can purchase outdoor kitchens in different versions. Among other things, they should make sure that they are made of weather- and UV-resistant materials and that the appliances and accessories are designed for outdoor use. If the outdoor kitchen is not under a roof, a cover is also recommended for the winter months.
Outdoor kitchens are available in various sizes and designs. According to AMK, either individual modules - often on castors for greater flexibility - are combined with each other or complete kitchen units or cooking islands are put together. The frames are usually made of stainless steel or aluminum. Materials such as ceramic, natural stone, composite materials or compact panels are used for the worktops and cabinet fronts.
Anyone interested in purchasing an outdoor kitchen should be able to set it up on a firm and stable surface. A natural stone or wooden terrace, for example, is suitable for this. An unpaved meadow, on the other hand, is unsuitable as a location for outdoor kitchens, according to AMK. Outdoor kitchens also have equipment and appliances such as a sink and refrigerator. According to AMK, interested parties should seek advice from experts at specialist retailers regarding the necessary water and electricity connections for these.
