Climate protection: "Blue Compass" audience award presented by online vote

Interested parties have until Wednesday, June 8, to decide who will receive the "Blue Compass" public award for exemplary climate adaptation projects. Of the 240 applications received by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUV) and the Federal Environment Agency (UBA), 20 projects have been nominated.

The Federal "Blue Compass" Award is being jointly organized by the BMUV and the UBA for the first time this year. The aim of the competition is to present innovative, effective and sustainable solutions for prevention and adaptation to the consequences of global overheating, such as heat, drought and heavy rainfall.

The 240 submissions were evaluated in an initial selection process with the support of the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) and the competition office co2online. The 20 projects will compete for the public prize in a public online vote at umweltbundesamt.de/tatenbank until Wednesday, June 8. The project with the most votes will win 25,000 euros.
