Future report: The real estate sector in the next decade

The CBRE Group, the world's largest commercial real estate services company, presents how the real estate sector will change in the next decade in its future report "Global Outlook 2030: The Age of Responisve Real Estate". For example, CBRE sees a continuing major development in the area of "working" and the transfer of the workplace away from a fixed presence in the office to a flexible working arrangement from home or on the road. This is just one example that shows that buildings, neighborhoods and cities will increasingly develop with regard to the different requirements of citizens. The development of technology plays an essential role in this.

Another trend for the coming years is the development in the area of "hotelification". Thus, the real estate offering will increasingly consist of customized properties that distinguish themselves as a brand and offer their residents a wide range of functions and amenities. Basically, the term "hotelification" refers to the combination of residential, retail as well as the offer of office space, which, similar to a hotel, offer their residents the services they need.

Other technological innovations, such as self-driving cars, artificial intelligence or the further development and optimization of online retailing are trends that the service provider CBRE foresees in its report. Big Data and Artificial Intelligence will make it possible to better capture and calculate data in the future. This will create new opportunities for optimized real estate valuation, which investors can use to make future-proof decisions. Overall, residential space in cities is becoming increasingly scarce, resulting in more "apartment buildings" that resemble a campus with professional management.
