Tip: mullion-transom facades made of glass offer a wide view

A glass facade on a building brings daylight into the premises and convinces with an unrestricted view. Whether in private homes, industrial buildings, universities or research centers, a mullion and transom facade is one of the most popular curtain walls and offers numerous options for facade design. Even multi-story buildings can be realized without any problems due to the slim profile width of 35 to 60 millimeters.

Mullion-transom facades consist of vertical mullions attached to the ceiling and horizontal transoms attached to the mullions by means of screws or welds. Filling elements are attached to the mullion-transom construction, which is made of wood, steel or aluminum. In addition to glass surfaces and panels, windows and doors can also be integrated. Accordingly, there are hardly any limits to the facade design.

A drainage system integrated into the structure ensures that condensation formed on the glass surfaces in the interior is drained away. The elastic seals located in the framework between the mullion-transom elements as well as the facade panels also prevent water from penetrating. In addition, the rebate spaces in the profiles are equipped with heat-insulating materials. To ensure sufficient sun protection, either special solar control glass can be integrated or attached to the glass elements from the inside or also from the outside. It is also possible to install photovoltaics in the mullion-transom structures.
