The new "Charging stations for electric cars - residential buildings" funding program from the Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW) further expands the area of electromobility. Thus, there are not only attractive purchase premiums for the acquisition of an electric car, but also financial support for the installation of private charging stations on residential buildings for the electric car. The subsidy of 900 euros per charging station can be applied for by private individuals as well as by owners and homeowners' associations, housing companies and cooperatives, and property developers.
The subsidy of 900 euros applies to one charging point. This means that if several charging points are installed at the charging station so that several electric cars can be charged at the same time, the subsidy can be applied for each individual charging point. The KfW subsidy for charging stations for electric cars can only be applied for if they are residential buildings with a private access. These can be located either at a parking space or a garage. If the residential building is a new house, the subsidy can only be applied for after moving in.
Another condition for guaranteeing the grant is that the total cost must apply for at least 900 euros. The total price can be made up of the following: Purchase price of the charging station with a charging capacity of at least 11 kilowatts, installation and connection of the charging station as well as all installation work and the costs for an energy management system with which the charging station can be controlled. Interested parties can find more information on applying for the grant on the KfW website.
