Living trend: Feng Shui

Feng Shui is a theory of harmony from China, which aims to create a connection of man with his living and living space. This is characterized by harmony and unison. Thereby Feng Shui pursues the goal to let the life energy Chi or also Qi called, flow better in the living environment and to improve thus the living and quality of life. With the right use of colors and the choice of certain materials, the energy is kept in flow; deficiencies can be balanced and, for example, inhibiting energy can be reduced.

With the so-called bagua plan, the floor plan of the apartment is first divided into different areas. The bagua plan can be implemented in two different methods. In the three-door bagua method, a grid of nine rectangles of equal size is placed over the floor plan of the apartment. Each rectangle thematizes an area of life, such as family and health, education and knowledge, career, children and creativity, and others. In the center of the rectangle, and thus the apartment, is the center and chi. The lower rectangles with the themes of education/knowledge, career and helpful people are placed on the wall with the front door of the house.

The Three Doors Bagua method follows the approach that each person can make a room his personal power room. This method makes the place of residence a mirror of one's own personality, with the help of which deficiencies and problem areas become visible and can be improved through Feng Shui. In the Compass Bagua method, the grid is also placed over the floor plan of the home, but its orientation is adjusted to the eight cardinal directions. This method assumes that each cardinal direction has its own chi energy, which, when properly aligned and using the colors and materials assigned to it, improves the flow of energy.
