Style of living: Japandi

In the interior style Japandi Japan and Scandinavia meet. Specifically, this style combines the calm and functional aspect of home furnishings from Japan with the warm and hyggeligen feel-good atmosphere from the north. What at first appears to be opposites is very similar in many aspects. Thus, in both interior design styles and in both cultures, the simplicity of things is the focus.

When it comes to colors and materials, Japandi focuses on naturalness. While in Scandinavian countries light colors dominate in home furnishings, in Japan one finds rather dark tones. Thus, at Japandi light furniture can be combined with dark decoration. Especially muted colors, such as brown or terracotta or black and gray create a natural and expressive look. Japandi is also characterized by high quality. True to the motto "less is more", wooden cabinets with visible but unobtrusive grains are just as trendy as high-quality materials. These include, for example, linen, cotton and wool, as well as jute - all natural textiles.

In the interior style Japandi, the furniture is delicate, classic and timeless. The Japanese touch comes out well when furniture close to the floor, such as futons, are used. These have the side effect of creating spaciousness even in small rooms. Exquisite and extravagant furniture and decorations are specially selected and give the premises a very special touch.
