Trend: modern wooden ceilings

While a wooden ceiling was trendy in the 60s and 70s, it became disreputable in the following years. Nowadays, modern wooden ceilings are gaining more and more prestige, not only because they improve the CO2 balance of the building. Nowadays, a modern wooden ceiling looks visually chic, especially if it is used in rooms with large window fronts and plenty of natural light. Likewise, wooden ceilings have other advantages compared to concrete ceilings or ceilings made of metal.

A modern ceiling made of wood provides a healthy living environment, as it regulates the humidity in the room. In addition, it has a particularly dust-repellent effect and is easy to maintain. From a structural point of view, a wooden ceiling has a good ratio between its own weight and load-bearing capacity. During installation, neither scaffolding nor supports are necessary, but it is characterized by a fast and dry construction method. Since modern wooden ceilings are multi-layered, they comply with many building specifications, for example, sound and heat insulation or load-bearing capacity.

Wooden ceilings come in different variants. While a wooden beam ceiling is particularly inexpensive and can be adapted individually and flexibly, a wooden box ceiling is particularly suitable in the area of floor construction. This is because a wooden box ceiling offers very good sound and fire protection. A particularly good room climate is achieved by installing a board stack ceiling. A wood-concrete composite ceiling combines the advantages of the building materials wood and concrete.
