How can participants in building construction best work together? This question is addressed by the Working Group on Digitized Construction (AKDB) of the German Construction Industry Association in its paper "Successful collaboration with BIM in building construction".
"BIM" stands for "Building Information Modeling". This refers to a planning and control concept for the planning, execution and management of buildings. According to AKDB, the aim of BIM is, among other things, to ensure budget security, schedule security and optimized use of resources.
Important for a successful project are, among other things, defined responsibilities, clear goals and decisions from the client, and a BIM execution plan from the contractor that specifies deadlines, the division of responsibilities, and how the parties involved will work together.
