In order to achieve greenhouse gas neutrality, an energy-efficient economy and a reduction in the primary energy consumption of the national economy are required. This is the view of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).
For this reason, two new funding guidelines will come into force on November 1, 2021 - the "Federal funding for energy and resource efficiency in business - grant and loan" and the "Federal funding for energy and resource efficiency - funding competition".
The new funding guidelines make further measures eligible for funding and also increase the funding rate for measures, for example for off-site waste heat utilization, by ten percentage points. Applications can be submitted to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control or the service and consulting company VDI/VDE Innovation + Technik from November 1.
