Study: Tenants ready for more climate protection

Tenants are prepared to make a greater contribution to climate protection within their own four walls. This is the result of a study entitled "The role of tenants in climate protection in the housing sector" conducted by Prof. Dr. Andreas Pfnür, Head of the Real Estate Management Department at the Faculty of Law and Economics at Darmstadt Technical University, and post-doctoral researcher Dr.-Ing. Nikolas Müller on behalf of the Noventic Group.

The study results show that tenants feel responsible for climate protection: More than two-thirds of respondents say that climate protection in the building cannot work without their involvement. They also see themselves and the landlord as having roughly equal responsibility for climate protection.

The study also shows that tenants are open to innovative solutions. For example, two-thirds of the study participants could imagine digital heating control. They hope this will bring benefits such as lower heating costs and greater living comfort. The complete study, for which 1,000 tenants were surveyed, can be found at noventic.com.
