Long-term incentives for energy-efficient building modernization with a focus on energy efficiency and electrification and the reduction of CO2 emissions in the building sector are being called for by three associations at once. The German Heat Pump Association (BWP), the Central Association of German Electrical and Information Technology Trades (ZVEH) and the Association of the Electrical and Digital Industry (ZVEI) are making several proposals in this regard.
The ZVEI believes that there has been a modernization and renovation backlog in Germany for years and is therefore calling for, among other things, a renovation quota of at least three percent for heating and six percent for lighting. According to the ZVEH, advice and implementation by specialist electrical contractors must also be eligible for subsidies. The BWP calls for the abolition of the EEG levy.
In addition, the three associations are calling for Building Information Modeling (BIM) to become the standard in the planning of new buildings and fundamental renovation measures. This digital planning technology enables sustainable construction and efficient operation and maintenance of buildings. The joint demand paper with further information can be found at waermepumpe.de.
