Study: Real estate prices rise by more than 7 percent

In Germany, prospective buyers have to pay an average price per square meter of €3,299.70 for an apartment. For single-family homes, the average price is as high as €3,990.96. This means that prices for apartments and houses rose by 6.93 percent and 7.09 percent respectively from May to October 2021 compared with the period from November 2020 to April 2021.

This is the result of a survey conducted by the real estate financing broker baufi24.de. The mediator examined thereby according to own data 240,000 real estate transactions. It also took a closer look at the largest seven cities in Germany - Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Stuttgart.

Here, prospective buyers pay the most at €10,013.01 per square meter, followed by Frankfurt am Main (€6,602.27/sqm) and Hamburg (€6,162.22/sqm). Prices rose in these cities by 6.37, 5.68 and 10.64 percent, respectively. Looking at all Big Seven cities in Germany, the average purchase price is €6,062.49. This corresponds to an increase of 8.27 percent.
