In a press release, the North Rhine-Westphalia Consumer Center has summarized, among other things, what will change in 2022 in the areas of energy, the environment and housing. Among other things, consumers will have to reckon with higher heating costs. This is due to the CO2 price, which has risen from 25 euros per ton to 30 euros per ton of CO2.
In return, consumers will be able to terminate energy supply contracts concluded from March 1, 2022 more quickly. The notice period will then be just one month instead of three months. The consumer advice center emphasizes that consumers will thus be "better protected against excessively long contract terms and notice periods.
In addition, the consumer advice center points out that the subsidy for a new building in accordance with the efficiency house standard 55 will expire. Applications for this must be received by KfW by January 31, 2022 at the latest. From February 1, 2022, only the new-build standards Efficiency House 40, Efficiency House 40-Renewable Energy Class or Sustainability Class, and Efficiency House 40 Plus will then be eligible for funding, according to the Federal Promotion for Efficient Buildings (BEG).
