The Berlin consumer advice center knows what needs to be considered when installing a ventilation system. Among other things, she points out that appropriate specialist planning is required, that the most efficient devices have the EU efficiency label A+ and that the acquisition costs for ventilation systems with heat recovery can be financially subsidized via the federal funding program for efficient buildings (BEG).
According to the consumer advice center, ventilation systems are not only practical because they supply living spaces with fresh air evenly, extract stale indoor air and transport moisture away. In some cases they may even be necessary, for example in some new buildings or renovated properties. This is the case when the windows and doors are sealed so well that opening them is no longer sufficient to protect against moisture.
According to the consumer center Berlin, a ventilation system can ensure continuous, needs-based ventilation. On the other hand, the filter systems in the ventilation systems can keep dust, pollen or insects out of the living space. With ventilation systems, a distinction is made between centralized and decentralized variants. Central ventilation variants are suitable for new buildings and decentralized ones for existing buildings, which can be retrofitted.
