Since May 1, newly built houses in Baden-Württemberg must be equipped with solar roofs. This is pointed out by the energy consulting service of the consumer center. Existing properties must be retrofitted from 2023 at the earliest. This so-called solar obligation will then also follow in other federal states.
In Berlin and Hamburg, the installation of solar systems will become mandatory for new residential buildings from January 2023, according to the consumer advice center. The obligation will then also apply to existing houses whose roofs are being renovated. In return for the solar obligation, owners will benefit, among other things, from subsidies from the Federal Promotion for Efficient Buildings (BEG).
Anyone who wants to know whether their roof, balcony or garden is suitable for a solar energy system can get advice from the experts at the consumer center's energy consulting service online, by phone or in a personal meeting.
