Thermal insulation of buildings is effective and easy to implement - this is the opinion of the FMI Fachverband Mineralwolleindustrie. Mineral wool can also help to achieve the climate targets in the building sector, writes the trade association on its website "der-daemstoff.de". For this to happen, however, the house must be insulated from the roof through the facade to the basement ceiling.
So-called mineral wool, a combination of glass wool and rock wool, can be used for thermal insulation. The aim of the measures is to reduce heating and cooling energy requirements, ultimately saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions. The fact that thermal insulation of buildings is worthwhile also emerges from a study, according to the trade association.
For example, interested parties can read in the study "Gray Energy and Gray Emissions of Insulation Materials in Comparison with Savings Potential" by the Munich Research Institute for Thermal Insulation that energy can be saved through thermal insulation and how much. The example calculations also take into account, among other things, the construction year classes of the buildings. Interested parties can download the complete study free of charge at der-daemmstoff.de.
