Modular concepts are currently in vogue for upholstered furniture. This is pointed out by the German Furniture Industry Association (VDM). The furniture is particularly flexible. For example, elements can be rearranged and redesigned. This is possible, for example, with sofas that have several movable elements, chairs with interchangeable legs, or sofas that can be upholstered in different fabrics.
In addition, the furniture should not only be easy to take along when moving, but also be particularly sustainable. According to VDM, many suppliers are currently looking for renewable, ecologically valuable raw materials that are suitable for the interior. The furniture shape is no longer necessarily classically straight-lined, but furniture can now also be shaped differently. This so-called amorphous shape can be found, for example, in sofas and seat humps.
In terms of fabrics, bouclé is currently in and corduroy also remains popular. In terms of colors, choices include gray, natural and earth tones, with shades now becoming a little lighter. According to VDM, for example, the colors light and medium gray, as well as off-white and beige, are now in vogue.
