Interested parties can apply for the Aerogel Architecture Award 2023 until Sunday, April 30, 2023 (11:59 p.m.). The category "Realized Solutions" is looking for internationally realized projects by architects and civil engineers in which aerogel is used in a special way. Students can present their project ideas for the use of aerogel in architecture, construction, renovation or monument preservation in the "Student Designs" category.
These can be, for example, solutions for improved energy efficiency, solutions for daylighting or other solutions for buildings. Participants are particularly encouraged to submit completed renovation projects for listed buildings whose energy efficiency has been improved using aerogel insulation materials.
The "Aerogel Architecture Award" will be presented by the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials and Testing (Empa) on Friday, June 2, in the NEST building on the Empa campus in Dübendorf near Zurich (Switzerland). At the event, winners will get the opportunity to present their project in a ten-minute talk. The talk will also be broadcast in a public live stream.
