Attention to detail, comfort and natural materials - according to the associations of the German furniture industry (VDM/VHK), these characteristics will be the trend in furniture in 2023. Modular solutions that allow numerous options are also in vogue. In terms of color choice, for example, the wood types ash and elm are currently being combined with light colors such as white, beige or sand or powdery pastel shades.
Upholstered furniture is becoming more comfortable, not only with cushions, but also with adjustment functions on head, back, and leg elements. This trend can also be seen in chairs - they become especially comfortable with seat shells, upholstery and armrests. Fabrics, leather or imitation leather can be chosen for the covers.
According to VDM/VHK, the home office will remain a part of the home. Different furniture solutions allow working in different rooms of the house or apartment.
