The Association of German Engineers (VDI) has published new guidelines to help ensure the professional planning and installation of heat pumps in single and multi-family homes. The VDI guideline 4645 is aimed at specialists such as planners, system manufacturers, tradesmen and operators involved in the installation and operation of hot water heating systems that are operated with heat pumps.
The VDI guideline also includes a training concept for specialists. The aim of this is to ensure the efficient and trouble-free operation of heat pumps, to avoid malfunctions and operating faults and to optimize the performance of heat pump systems.
In this context, the VDI also points out that property owners can take advantage of state subsidies when purchasing a heat pump - in the form of grants, loans and tax relief. According to the VDI, some regional and local authorities also support the switch to heat pumps. The guideline can be ordered for a fee of 311 euros.
