Consumers can currently save 300 to 800 euros per year by switching electricity or gas providers. The North Rhine-Westphalia consumer advice center points this out. There are "cheap electricity and gas tariffs" again. In addition, some electricity tariffs have also returned to "pre-crisis levels" according to the NRW consumer advice center.
If a family switches from an electricity tariff with a basic price of 40 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) plus basic price to an electricity tariff with a basic price of 30 cents per kWh, they can save 300 to 400 euros per year, depending on consumption. In the case of a gas tariff, a family could even save 800 euros a year by switching from a tariff of 13 cents per kilowatt hour plus basic price to a tariff of 9 cents per kWh.
According to the consumer advice center, anyone can change their energy supplier, regardless of their residential status. In order to benefit from favorable tariffs in the long term, it is advisable to regularly compare offers or use the services of switching service providers. In addition to the financial benefits, customer service, regional proximity or environmental aspects such as green electricity and green gas tariffs can also be decisive factors for switching suppliers.
