Builders can save significantly when building a house - compared to retrofitting later - if they plan for an electric car charging station straight away. The initial installation during construction is much cheaper, as any necessary adjustments to the power grid and structural measures can be integrated directly. The portal "finanzen.net" points this out.
The installation costs for a charging station when building a house are less than 1,000 euros. This is in stark contrast to the cost of retrofitting, which can be up to four times higher. In addition, the KfW subsidizes the installation with 900 euros per charging point, which further reduces the financial burden.
A charging station offers the option of coupling it with a photovoltaic system (PV) to charge the electric car with self-generated electricity. This maximizes the ecological and economic benefits of the installation. A sufficiently dimensioned PV system ensures that both the household and vehicle electricity requirements can be covered, resulting in long-term savings.
