Climate protection: "Blue Compass" audience award is presented via online voting

Until Wednesday, June 8, interested parties can decide who will receive the "Blue Compass" public award for exemplary climate adaptation projects. Twenty projects were nominated from the 240 applications received by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUV) and the Federal Environment Agency (UBA).

This year, for the first time, the federal "Blue Compass" award is being jointly organized by the BMUV and UBA. The aim of the competition is to present innovative, effective and sustainable solutions for precaution and adaptation to the consequences of global overheating, such as heat, drought and heavy rain.

The 240 submissions were evaluated in an initial selection process and with the support of the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW) and the competition office co2online. The 20 projects will compete until Wednesday, June 8, in a public Internet vote at umweltbundesamt.de/tatenbank for the audience award. The project with the most votes wins 25,000 euros.
