35 students, two staff members and Dr. Carsten Lausberg, Professor of Real Estate Management at Nürtingen-Geislingen University of Applied Sciences (HfWU), have published a study on "The Effectiveness of Location Analysis Systems". These provide information on real estate locations.
They can help those responsible in the real estate industry to prepare a location analysis, for example, by providing information about the micro and macro location. A total of twelve location analysis systems were examined in the study, which, according to the study, have a technically high level of development, recognizable among other things by their ease of use and user satisfaction.
However, the study also shows that the majority of location analysis systems have good analysis capabilities but low decision support capabilities. According to HfWU officials, there is still a lot of research and development work to be done before the systems can also provide good support for real estate companies' decisions about how to use a location.
