In the new "Home Report 2022" from the Zukunftsinstitut, housing expert and futurologist Oona Horx-Strathern looks at the impact of the Corona pandemic on housing. She has identified and summarized three different trends. She calls them "Conscious Kitchen," "FurNEARtur" and "modular furniture.
The "Conscious Kitchen" trend means that the kitchen is being valued more. With the home office, the focus is on flexible solutions such as movable partitions. This allows work and private life to be better separated. When it comes to furniture, many are focusing on sustainability, regional raw materials and products from nearby. Because of the proximity, this trend in furniture is again referred to as "FurNEARtur" in the Home Report.
In addition, "modular furniture" is in demand, which can be expanded, downsized and used in different environments as needed. Sustainability also plays an important role here.
