With the digitalization and intelligent development of the systems, consumers should receive a detailed breakdown of their consumption and thus contribute more efficiently to the energy transition.
While the Ferraris meters are equipped with a mechanical drive and can only display total electricity consumption, the new energy meters are designed to give consumers detailed data on their electricity consumption over the past year, month or week. Using a built-in communication module in the modern energy meters, tenants receive up-to-date figures and graphics directly on their smartphone, tablet or computer.
The smart metering systems can identify those appliances in the household that draw the most electricity. In addition, consumers receive useful tips on how they can specifically minimize their electricity consumption. The cost of operating the meter depends on personal consumption. Anyone who consumes an average of 3,000 to 4,000 kilowatt hours of electricity a year pays about 40 euros. As of this year, households that use more than 6,000 kilowatt hours of electricity are required to equip their household with an intelligent metering system.
