The natural building material concrete has long been used not only in the construction industry due to its load-bearing capacity, resistance and malleability, but is also considered particularly chic in interior design. Whether for the design of rooms, such as the bathroom or kitchen, or as an elegant building material in the field of furniture design, concrete can be used in a variety of ways and can be combined well with wood, colors and fabrics.
If you equip your kitchen with concrete, you have to take good care of it. Especially the countertop and heavily used areas, such as the sink or a tabletop, can quickly become dirty. To enable thorough and easy cleaning, the concrete used is permanently sealed with a synthetic coating and thus resists even coarse dirt and grease. In addition, sensitive areas such as a sink are ground and finely polished in the process so that no dirt particles can penetrate the concrete surface.
Concrete as a building material also has many advantages. For example, the mixture of cement made from limestone, clay, gravel or sand and water has a good ecological balance and is relatively inexpensive. Concrete is also thermally insulating and keeps out moisture, noise and fire. Polished and sealed concrete resembles marble or soapstone and is pleasant to the touch. Furniture and accessories made of concrete, such as lamps, tables or small furniture, add elegance to the premises.
