The shortage of skilled workers in the roofing trade is to be combated by offering the possibility of so-called partial qualifications. These partial qualifications give people over the age of 25 the opportunity to gradually acquire professional skills and ultimately obtain a full vocational qualification.
Rolf Fuhrmann, Deputy Managing Director of the Central Association of the German Roofing Trade, emphasizes the importance of this form of training: "This approach helps to make it easier to start a career and creates a flexible opportunity for career changers to establish themselves in the industry."
The partial qualifications are supported by the employment agency. A special aspect of these partial qualifications is the opportunity to take an external examination after successfully completing the individual modules in order to obtain a full vocational qualification. This initiative demonstrates the efforts of the roofing trade to both meet the current demand for skilled workers and to invest in the future of the industry.
