Construction sites should emit less carbon dioxide (CO2) in future. The Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO) has published corresponding measures for the decarbonization of construction sites by 2045 in a strategic roadmap.
The strategic roadmap highlights twelve fields of action that need to be considered on the way to a climate-neutral construction site by 2045. These include the following: Policy, economy, education, technology, market design, research and development and communication technologies on the construction site.
The Hauptverband der Deutschen Bauindustrie and the Verband Deutscher Maschinen- und Anlagenbau were also involved in the roadmap, which interested parties can access free of charge at iao.fraunhofer.de.
