Guide: "Energy efficiency in hospitals

The Münch Foundation has now published a guide to "Energy efficiency in hospitals". In it, it has investigated where potential lies with regard to the factors "lighting and illumination," "circulation and circulating pumps," "solar energy and photovoltaics," "room climate and cooling," "combined heat and power units," "heating and steam boilers," "building insulation" and "energy-saving actions.

The authors conclude, among other things, that replacing circulation pumps with high-efficiency pumps can reduce electricity consumption to a fraction and that this could pay for itself within a few years. But they also recommend replacing old lighting with new LED lighting.

Interested parties can read the guide free of charge at stiftung-muench.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/guide-energy-efficiency.pdf. In addition, the foundation is inviting people to an online event on Friday, April 21, 4 to 5 p.m. At this, the authors will present the study and answer questions.
